This saturday will mark my second visit to the beautiful city of Trier. Once again I’m rocking the Afrodisiac party that is being held at the “Forum” club. Last time we had over 1000 people partying till 6 in the morning with me and host Danny. Incredibly good vibes and a beautiful venue made this one of the best parties in 2009 for me. We’re back for the next round now and we’ll have a special motto as well: “Return Of The Superfly”. This means that besides all the regular party music, I’ll be playing an extended selection of 70s soul sounds, preferably from the Blaxploitation era, we’ll have special Superfly dancers and many other things. Let me tell you, you don’t wanna miss this. Be there early, as the lines in front of the club will be crazy!

Die Mannheimer Mediendesign-Agentur FameFabrik sollte durch die vielen Zusammenarbeiten mit mir und uns eigentlich ein Begriff sein. Ob Videos, Photos, Animationen oder Artdesign – die Jungs können so ziemlich alles und sind dabei noch extrem angenehme Zeitgenossen mit dem Herz an der richtigen Stelle und einer unglaublichen Leidenschaft für HipHop. Umso mehr habe ich mich gefreut, als Mikis (Kreativ-Chef der Bande) mir mitgeteilt hat, dass eines ihrer neuesten Werke “Hey Du” aus dem aktuellen Sido-Album für einen Echo als bestes Musikvideo National nominiert worden ist. Wohlgemerkt, wir reden hier von den Echos, die ja nicht gerade die HipHop-affinste Veranstaltung sind. Dies soll also nun der Anlass sein, an dem wir alle eine Chance haben, einen neuen Meilenstein für uns und unsere eigene Szene zu setzen. Jede Stimme kann den Unterschied ausmachen, weswegen ich Euch alle bitte zu voten, damit wir den Preis nach Hause holen können. Und damit meine ich nicht ins FameFabrik-Haus, sondern ins HipHop-Haus. Die Zeiten des Schwachsinn sind vorbei, HipHop ist wieder in den Händen von den Leuten, die sich auch wirklich darum kümmern.

Hold up. There was a video to this joint? This never made its way over the Atlantic. 50.000 rap video shows and this one was never aired??? I’m confused right now. This is one of my top 5 hip hop songs of all time.

B.O.B. aka Bobby Ray has been a familiar name for a good while now, mostly because this and this song. He’s part of the quite successful class of ‘09 with the one thing still missing: a debut album. This is all about to change, because the album is scheduled for a May 25th release now and this is where the mixtape title comes from. The single “Nothin’ On You” is getting bigger and bigger on the radio and I’m getting very good feedback from the listeners of my show as well for this record. “May 25th” is presented by LRG, mixed by DJ Drama & DJ Sense of The Aphiliates and showcases B.O.B. in the best tradition of southern artists like Outkast, Goodie Mob and Organized Noise.
