The DJ Survey with DJ A-Les

I haven’t found the time to upload this little treat here earlier, but it’s finally here and I know you’re gonna enjoy this… DJ A-Les is a highly talented kid from Munich, Germany and also a fellow BSTN Soundsystem member. One day I asked him if he wanted to play a little guest set on my weekly radio endeavour and he immediately got behind the turntables to knock out this treat for you guys. Enjoy the dl after the jump. Of course I made him fill out the DJ Survey as well – here’s what A-Les had to say:

DJ Kitsune presents THE DJ SURVEY with:
DJ A-LES (BSTN SOUNDSYSTEM)

I dj, because … I think it’s about time someone teaches people what good music is and especially what it’s about. Don’t flow with the river, flow against it and prove others wrong.

When you come to one of my parties, you’re definitely going to …
Freak Out!

My first record was …
Wu Tang “36 Chambers”

I hate songs that …
get on my damn nerves. For instance, some lame ass remixes with David Guetta, and I’m sick of all these hipsters.

The wildest music request I ever got was …
„Jürgen Drews – Ich bin der König von Mallorca“ True Story!

The best party I ever played was …
yeah well, the thing about good partys is that, you just can’t remember them. Although, the best party I ever played at, was here in Munich – BSTN.

The most expensive record I ever bought …
“Watch The Throne (Deluxe Set)”

When I dj, you better don’t …
don’t mess with my shit

When I travel, I usually …
take the train and come too late.

My first club gig was …
in 2008.

When I get out of the club, all I wanna do is …
eat and watch tv.

I have all of my vinyl …
in my bedroom.

I would never play …
other music for more money. Read more…

The DJ Survey with DJ Hard2Def & DJ Rapture

After having the Clubcrushers aka DJ Hard2Def & DJ Rapture as guests on my weekly radio show (download this weeks episode here), I thought it would be only right to have the guys do the DJ Survey as well. The same 12 questions as usual answered by the guys from Mannheim – clean and easy fun. Don’t forget to get DJ Rapture’s new club smash “Turn Up” featuring LB, I think he got a hit there. Alla hopp.

DJ Kitsune presents THE DJ SURVEY with:

The DJ Survey with: DJ Ron

If you missed last week’s introduction to this new feature on DJKitsune.com, here’s the 411: The DJ Survey portraits dj friends and associates from all over the world that I respect as true craftsmen and artists. They all get to complete the same 13 sentences about themselves and their work and we get to understand how our favorite record players see their world. Good chance for many of you to look behind the guy who just yelled at you because you put your drink next to his laptop. And this week featured guest, DJ Ron, even gets to cuss me out on my own blog. Oh lord!

DJ Kitsune presents THE DJ SURVEY with: DJ RON

I dj, because … i love it!

When you come to one of my parties, you’re definitely going to … hear something from Biggie, Jay-Z or Nas.

My first record was … a record from Run DMC.

I hate songs that … are just made to appeal to a current trend.

The wildest music request I ever got was … something from Rammstein or Böhse Onkelz.

The best party I ever played was … either one of our own Down & Dirty Parties, the Beastin Party in Munich or one of the Parties at B-Club in Moscow.

The most expensive record I ever bought … was School Of Hardknocks.

When I dj, you better don’t … put your drinks next to my laptop or request any stupid retarted trash records!

When I travel, I usually … take a lot of pics!

My first club gig was … in 1995 in a club called B-Plan in Chemnitz.

When I get out of the club, all I wanna do is … get a nice breakfast at a hotel and lay my head to rest! If i still have to hit the road i love to listen to Jazz or Classical Music.

I have all of my vinyl … in one extra room at home.

I would never play … a record where DJ Kitsune is somehow involved in! ;)

The DJ Survey with DJ Yooter

New year, new rules. Here’s an idea I had over the holidays and today you’ll witness the kick-off: The DJ Survey. In this brand new section of my little site I call home, I’m gonna be having different djs from all over the world complete 13 sentences about their life as a dj. Interesting answers and insights into the life of your favorite djs and the rock stars of the 21st century. We start off with my man DJ Yooter who also was a guest on my mixshow yesterday (in case you missed it), he’s reps Jackson Heights, Queens and is part of DJ Enuff‘s infamous Heavy Hitter dj crew. Let’s see what he has to say…

DJ Kitsune presents THE DJ SURVEY with: DJ YOOTER

I dj, because… I fell in love with it when I heard and saw my cousins HEC (RIP) and NES (RIP) from L.E.S., DJing.

When you come to one of my parties, you’re definitely going to… dance, drink and celebrate the fact that we only live once.

My first record was… Sucker M.C.’S- Run DMC (There were many before, that that I stole or was given as a gift. That one was the 1st I paid for).

I hate songs that… have no soul, no hard drums, are sappy-singing-remakes of other songs and are only about love.

The wildest music request I ever got was… when someone asked if i could play “real” Hip Hop while “Welcome To The Terrordome-P.E. was playing!

The best party I ever played was… at Palm Tree (later known as Casablanca) in Woodside ,Queens circa ’92.

The most expensive record I ever bought… were European House records in the early 90′s (import house joints were from europe-$14.00).

When I dj, you better notrequest songs all night holding your cell phone up at the booth with misspelled titles and artists.

When I travel, I usually… go through my music on the plane, train or car and hope I don’t forget my laptop there, like I’ve done. LOL

My first club gig was… a “House Jam” on 75th street and 34th ave. in Jackson Heights, Queens-1986. It might as well’ve been a club!

When I get out of the club, all I wanna do is… eat, go home, f**k and sleep- I HATE AFTER HOURS!

I have all of my vinyl… at home regardless of cost and need for space.

I would never play… all the hits back to back at 11:45 PM in a club, that “my boo” crap with Nelly and Kelly Rowland or anything from Jan Delay.
